Blog Candy at Ephemerasattic

This will remain at the top of my blog; for newer posts please scroll down thank you.

I thought it was about time I offered a little blog candy as a thank you for the support and encouragement I've received these last couple of years from all you lovely crafters. I do try to visit as many of your blogs as I can, but the days just seem to fly by and not being the most organised of crafters I find I'm sadly lacking in the commenting department, so this is in way of a blog apology too.

Here is a list of the candy and some more pictures below. All items are  new and unused.

Three rubber stamps, two crafty Individuals and one papermania
small selection of fabric strips
cotton lace doily
zakka stamped tape
sage cotton lace
metal purse frame
small plywood frame
2 vintage manilla postcard blacks
3 zig photo marker pens ideal for using on photo stamped images (can be used with archival ink)
3 felted embellishments (made by yours truly)
I quilted zipper pouch (ditto)
A small digital collage printed onto washable cotton (ditto)

Lovers Pillow ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

I've come over all romantic for the latest challenge at FSC which is Mail time (Anything About Postage - Postcards/Stamps/Envelopes/Letters) We are very lucky to be sponsored by Leo at Flonzcraft who is offering the winner of the prize draw $20 to spend in his store. Please be aware we are a stamping Challenge and do require some stamping on your project and definitely no digis please. For lashings of  loveliness do pop over to the FSC blog to see what the other Stampettes have been up to.

My little pillow has a pocket for storing love letters and photographs from your Amour and has been stamped in sepia archival ink using a variety of mail art stamps and of course the beautiful Serena from the Stampsmith.

A little hand made flower from die cut felt and lace.

It would be lovely if you could share your mail art creations with us this fortnight at FSC.

Take care and Happy Stamping xxx

Sew More to Show You!

My blogging is a little like public transport ATM a bit hit and miss, no posts for a week then several projects in one post! So plenty of photos to bore you with today! I've never been very organised in any aspect of my life including blogging LOL :-D.

Last week was a sewing week, as stamping is rather inky and messy I tend to alternate between the two. So I have a few stitchery projects for you.

These two pouches were made for a Folksy customer who has a penchant for Linen and lace with a dash of French.

The sewing kit is very similar to one I made previously and is for moi as I do like to keep my sewing supplies handy. I bought a Moda Scrap bag with some very pretty fabric strips which I used to make the patchwork, with plenty left over to make, the pouches below and still more strips left! I do like making zipper pouches can you tell.

I'll be back at the end of the week with a new Challenge at The Stampsmiths and FSC so it would be lovely if you could pop by then.

Take care & Happy Crafting. xxx

Try Something New ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hope you're all having a fab weekend, feels like the middle of April here at the moment with all the showers yesterday.  It's time for another Fashionable Stamping Challenge and this fortnight we are asking you to 'Show us Something New' we are very lucky to be sponsored by Leo at Flonzcraft who is offering the winner of the prize draw $20 to spend in his store. Please be aware we are a stamping Challenge and do require some stamping on your project and definitely no digis please. For oodles of loveliness do pop over to the FSC blog to see what the other Stampettes have been up to.

My project is a Wicca Shrine seeing as it will soon be the time for the summer solstice. It's a mixture of old and new stamps. The new being the goddess Diana and the standing stones both cherry pie art stamps.

It was really fun to make and I did go rather overboard with all the stamping. It would lovely if you could share one of your crafty creations with us at FSC this fortnight.

Take care & Happy Crafting xx

Silvia's Box ~ The Stampsmith

I hope you are all having a brilliant start to the weekend. I would like to share with you my guest design team project for the The Stampsmith. I am using the beautiful Silvia from the gorgeous Stampsmith plate 'Olivia and friends' It would be great if you could pop over to the challenge blog here and leave a comment as it's my first post as guest designer.

I altered an MDF trinket box that I purchased from Dunelm Mill, which was actually cheaper than buying a blank box. I sanded it down and gave it a few coats of matt emulsion, then I stamped Silvia and the floral frame in archival ink. I painted the stamps with Inktense pencils I added some texture paint through a couple of Crafters workshop stencils and buffed on some distress inks.

I glued some guipure lace onto the sides using matt medium, then painted over with gesso and matt emulsion and addedsome colour with my Inktense pencils again.

I highlighted the edges of the box with a gold leafing pen, then added some balsam wax polish to seal the box. The inside is lined with some pastel papers.

I was so thrilled to be picked as a winner of Our Creative Corners May Challenge, don't know how as they were so many AMAZING projects to choose, but pleased as punch :-D  such a talented design team too, thank you so much. xx

Sew Bloglovin

I was just reading Buttons post about google reader finishing soon, in my crafty bubble I was unaware of this  and don't totally know what the implications are concerning my blog, but I thought I'd follow Jenny's lead and join Bloglovin. So this is just a mini post with the bloglovin html code attached as required. Just had to claim my blog too how weird, thought it was mine already LOL!!

So as I don't like to post without any craftiness, here is a couple more of my sewing bits and bobs.

Back tomorrow with my first Stampsmith DT project, so would love you to pop back and have a look.

Take care and Happy Crafting xxx

From Paris with Love

I'm enjoying playing with some digital images using a free downloadable program called GIMP which is similar to photoshop. This is a little collage I designed. I then printed the collage onto washable cotton and stitched into a couple of zipper pouches.

I had a great day at my first quilting workshop, so hopefully (when I get it finished!!) I will be able to show you my Jelly roll quilt which is based on a Jacob's ladder pattern

I Hope you're all enjoying the beautiful sunny weather here in the UK, long may it continue, just wish I could somehow use my sewing machine in the garden LOL!

Thanks for all your lovely comments and have a great Crafty Thursday xx

Tag Time ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Welcome to another challenge at FSC on this lovely sunny Sunday. I hope you all manage to get to see the sun today as we are certainly in need of it!

Our latest challenge is Tag time, chosen by the lovely Claire. We would love to see your tags this fortnight, do head over to FSC HQ for some fabulous inspiration from the very talented Stampettes. We are a stamping challenge so we do need to see stamping on your project and no digi stamps please. The lucky winner of the prize draw will receive $21 to spend at Flonzcraft from our very generous sponsor Leo.

I chose to make a couple of tags, the first being a fabric book mark using the some TAP and a lovely indigoblu stamp.

The second tag is featuring a lovely newly released stamp from Crafty individuals.

I had a fab day at my first quilting workshop yesterday. But oh did my brain ache, I felt shattered when I got in and needed a refreshing Crabbies ginger beer to restore the equilibrium LOL!

Take care and Happy Crafting xx

The stampsmith Challenge ~ Altered Boxes, Bags & Books

I was delighted to be asked to join The Stampsmith as a guest designer, as I love all their wonderful vintage photo stamps. This is my first project and it is for their new challenge which is, Altered boxes, bags and books.

I used this gorgeous stamp from the Portrait of a Lady stamp sheet for my notebook. It was more a case of re-purposing than altering as I didn't have the right sized notebook so I used some thick grey card, cut to size. It was painted in gesso first then a bit of distress inking. I stamped randomly in sepia archival ink with some text stamps and finally used the Tim Holtz papillon stamp and some white embossing powder to create a bit of surface texture.

I've recently bought some of the new TH alteration dies, one being the postage stamp die. It cuts all manner of things including the felt for my frame beautifully, to which I then added the obligatory sewing and a few buttons to finish. Another TH die for text and some prima papers which were also used for the inside.

I do hope you will check out the Smithies challenge blog and see the beautiful projects the team have created for this new challenge, and it would also be wonderful if you could join the challenge this month, as the prize is a very $21 of gorgeous Stampsmith stamps.

Must dash as I'm off to quilting workshop, (hopefully to start making my first quilt using a jelly roll!)

Take care and Happy stamping. xx

Big apologises as I haven't manage to visit many blogs this week, will rectify that when I get in later, and will catch up with all your gorgeous creations.
