Tapestry Panel for Thats Crafty

Another project for Thatsbloggingcrafty using these delicious new Lynne Perrella stamps, they are becoming a firm favourite of mine, as they really get the creative juices flowing. I’m watching the Borgias at the moment and I wanted to make something with a rich opulent feel. I cut up some pieces of fabric and used bondaweb to adhere them to an old piece of curtain fabric. I stitched around each piece of fabric but you don’t have to do this, you can use a good fabric glue or just the bondaweb on its own.

I then painted two coats of gesso on some calico and used black archival ink to stamp my images. These were then coloured in using distress inks and some prismacolor pencils. More bondaweb was used to stop the images moving whilst I stitched them. I added a vintage key a yoyo flower and some chiffon rose trim to finish.
I haven’t decided what to do with the panel yet, whether to make a bag, or hanging any suggestions folks?

Have a lovely day and I'll be back on Sunday with a scheduled post for the new Fashionable Stamping Challenge. We are off to Normandy for our holiday, so lots of croissants and Tarte Citron for me LOL!

Take care & Happy Crafting XX

What a brilliant idea Paula. The fabrics are so rich and the whole panel looks like it should be hanging in a museum of fine art.

this is gorgeous! Much stronger colours than your usual soft ones I think. Definitely it should be made into a bag, methinks,
