Fashionable Stamping Challenges ~ Summer Ice cream colours

Yum the latest challenge at FSC is ice cream colours. Please do pop over to look at all those delicious and dreamy ice cream concoctions made by the other Stampettes, for some gorgeous and inspirational design projects. Our generous sponsor is Marina from Cottage Crafts with a fabulous prize up for grabs.

When we used to visit my Nan in Islington we always used to go to De Marco's ice cream shop in Chapel market. Even in the depths of winter we always used to have one of their gorgeous, chocolate, strawberry, lemon and vanilla whippy ice creams, I've never found one that equals them since, the memories of childhood eh LOL!

I made a canvas for my design piece using those yummy colours. I used fresco finish paints to for the canvas and texture paste for the harlequin stencil to give it texture. The central stamp and the text and swirl stamps are by La Blanche. I stamped onto tissue paper and then glued onto the canvas as it is very difficult to get a detail impression if stamping straight on the canvas. The roses and post card are from Graphic 45 A ladies Day 8 x 8 pad and the lock and key are made using a tim holtz die. I used gilding paste around the edges of the canvas and rubbed randomly over the harlequin texture (not that you can see it LOL I'm pants at taking photos the colours are never quite the same! Any photography tips greatly welcomed!)

I am entering this for the following Challenges

Hope you all have a fantastic Sunday and Happy Crafting. XX

Your canvas is very pretty. I really like the colors you've chosen and the distressing you've done to give your piece more of a vintage feeling. The textural harlequin pattern really looks nice. I also like how you've incorporated some of G45's new A Ladies Diary images into your lovely canvas. Thanks for sharing your work with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
