Steampunk Love ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Steampunk is new challenge at FSC this fortnight. Its a theme I struggle with, so I decided to add a feminine slant to my project, anything masculine brings me out in a cold sweat LOL!! I know, another fabric hanging, I'm just enjoying using my sewing machine ATM.  Please head over to FSC headquarters for some stunning steampunk creations. Our lovely sponsor is Marina from Cottage Crafts and is offering a fab prize for the winner.

The background panel is stamped on cotton fabric with sepia archival ink then painted with diluted inktense washes. I die cut a couple of hearts from the a piece of cotton I'd put through my bigshot with an inked up gears and cogs embossing folder. The central image is a combination of two stamps, La Blanche clock and steampunk lady by Graphic 45. These were stamped on gessoed fabric and painted with Inktense pencils. Then all stitched together.

Looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous entries. But remember no digis as we are a stamping challenge and we do need to see some form of stamping in your project. Thanks for looking and have a lovely Sunday.

I'm entering this for the following challenges

The Craft room Challenge ~ Add Fabric

Simon Says Stamp And Show ~ Anything goes

Happy Crafting xx

Wonderful Paula, love how you have combined Steampunk, which is so often very masculine and grungy, with the soft layers of a fabric piece, and the great thing is it really works!!
LOVE it!!

A fabulously feminine creation Paula and who says steampunk has to be masculine! Love all the texture on here and your stamping looks fabulous (oddly enough, I've just bought the winged clock stamp and glad I did after seeing how good it can look)
Have a great Sunday.
Hugs, Fliss xx

Love your take on steampunk Paula, just shows it doesn't have to be grungy and masculine. It's not just the stamping and colouring but the little touches of the beading and flowers that finish it perfectly.

Hi Paula
Sorry for not visiting but I know you understand.
I can easily say this, for me personally, the most fabulous Steampunk piece of art I've seen and I have seen many amazing pieces.
Love the feminine slant and your colour choice and of course fabric always impresses me.

Wow Paula...this is awesome!!! And I say that to everyone who sews!!! (lol, anyone who can handle that machine is awesome). These images are amazing too...I really like the central lady with the cogs in her hair. And the clock and wing set her off beautifully.

gave my craft room a real good clean out last week and found a bag from Derwent... (from my last visit to keswick and the pencil museum... and what was inside..an Inktense pencil set (also some watercolour pencils). I cant believe I was asking you what they are and it turns out i have had a set in a bag for 3 years. My mum bought them for me in the factory shop two months before she died and I just never got round to opening the bag up. been to watch the inktense video on the derwent site now too lol... thanks for reminding me what they are for .. I would have just thought (after all this time) that i had some colouring pencils. and set them aside to be forgotten. x
