Rain Rain Go Away!

And don't come back for at least a month please, as I still can't get my furry boots on, well on the puffy foot anyway and I feel a bit conspicuous splashing about in odd shoes LOL !!

As it was Hubby's birthday yesterday (and the sun did come out) I had to make him a card. Groan, can't do male themed stuff, don't own many masculine stamps whinge whinge , only a few steam punk, motorbike ones. The choice is limited for men isn't it, as it seems to be steampunk or vintage gents. I always make Hubby motorbike cards, so thought I'd have to make something different this year. He plays the mandolin and guitar and as I didn't have either of those stamps I plumbed for another stringed instrument instead. I made the background using DI and La Blanche stamps and a kaisercraft music one. The focal stamp is also La Blanche and is coloured using DI's and prisma pencils. Rub n buff antique gold was added to the curled edges.

I am very behind in leaving all my comments so I do apologise and will do some blog hopping later, but first I have some serious craft catching up to do.

The lovely Lynne from Adorn has just brightened my day by letting me know that I have won a set of stamps from The Stampsmith, how fabulous, thank you Lynne.

I'm entering this for

Happy Crafting XX

Great card for a musician, Paula. My brother (one of the few males I make cards for) is really into sailing so any sea or ship themes always seem to work for him.

Congrats, btw, on featuring in the latest Craft Stamper :-)

Another stunner Paula! You own the most fabulous stamps!! That violin looks so real the way you have coloured it, I am starting to run out of superlatives.... Hope the old foot will get better soon and congrats on another super article in CF!! You are starting to be a regular there it seems, congrats and certainly a great choice on their part!! LOVED the idea of die cutting shrink plastic. Am definitely going to try the cameo idea and the bottle charms look amazing!!!

Hello Paula
I can so relate to your thoughts on Male cards.... I had a difficult task the other week to make one.
You have nailed this though, I just love the distressing and the inked Bg, and I like how you have followed through your music theme from Bg to image.
Smiles:)

Gorgeous card and just love the colours and inky background. Great image and embellishing too.
Sorry the foot is still puffy and hope it goes down soon - I think feet up is the only answer.
Forgot to say congratulations on your blog anniversary just now so saying it here.
Also loved your article in the June CS and might have to break out the shrink plastic!

Oops had a problem commenting to trying once more.
As I was saying ...... I also groan when it is time to make a card for a male relation as not everyone appreciates Steampunk!
The colours are gorgeously rich and your stamping, as always, is perfection. Belated birthday wishes for your hubby.
I was so glad to be able to share your news with you as I you've had such bad luck with your ankle and of course your sister has now returned to the U.S.A.
Happy shopping and have fun with your new stamps once they arrive.
Wishes
Lynne

Well, for someone who doesn't make men's card, you've done a pretty good job with this one. The layout is fab and the colours are so suitable ... a very eyecatching card indeed. Elizabeth x

Love the brilliant colorations of your card. My hubby just celebrated his birthday yesterday! Thanks for dropping by my blog with kind words today. Check out Queen's Dresser Drawers - love their quirkiness. Things like "baby you can drive my car" features a vintage woman and car with a modern day song title. Hope that ankle is healing! best, Yvonne

I feel the same as you Paula when it comes to masculine cards but this is just perfect and I love the image. Congrats on your win from The Stampsmith.

This is fabulous Paula, I love how you've coloured the gentleman in particular. I find male cards quite difficult also, and steer clear unless I really have to! Hope your foot is on the mend, you may start a trend with odd funky wellies - they'll may look pretty cool!
