A Vintage Beauty

I dusted off my inks as they have been sorely neglected of late, partly due to my sewing obsession, but mainly my inkiness seemed to have deserted me. I struggle when I know I have to make specific pieces and I certainly craft better when I am more relaxed and can make something just because!

I rarely make tags and I really enjoyed creating this one. Lots of stamping and inks and a touch of stencilling using ferro. The main stamp is from B line designs and  another of my favourites, she is coloured using a combination of prismacolor pencils and distress inks. I dyed a small piece of muslin and added lace and a small flower. The embossed heart is recycled from an old project.

I would like to enter this for

Have a great Sunday & Happy Crafting xx

  2. OK, officially IN LOVE with this. Such a stunning way to blend that beautiful lady with the background, and then the added elements at the bottom bring the whole piece together. Love that you have taken the tag background around the lady too rather than just leaving her hanging off the edge unsupported. No lady should be unsupported methinks!!! Well done you. Hugs, Jenny x

  4. Your blog title sums this piece up - I hear you about finding it hard to create when you 'have' to....if I just play, things happen more easily.

  7. This is lovely. Glad you are being inky. I loved your sewing items but as I don't have a sewing machine I didn't feel I could even aspire to them. Now you can inspire me with your inkiness again!

  8. Paula...this is amazingly beautiful! I so love your combination of the greens and pink-ish tones. Your background is beautiful! I love the textured harlequin! That really pops! I also love all of the stamping and the lovely image of your victorian lady that you have so beautifully colored. Lovely combinations of color, texture and design! 30. Hi Paula, better late than never, but Happy New Year! This is gorgeous, and the colours show through so beautifully. I love how you've added a little piece of dyed muslin at the bottom, a perfect finishing touch.

So many apologies for not visiting recently, I haven't been very active full stop due to various things, but you have made some stunning creations, I sooo love your bag (I was very kindly treated to one of your lovely little bags as a gift for Xmas!), and your masking creation is stunning. I hope you enjoyed the festive break and have recovered from all the bugs.
