Alter Something ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Time for another challenge at FSC. This time we would like to see your altered items, but remember we are a stamping challenge so we do need to see stamping in your work. The Stampettes have pulled out all the stops and created some really inspirational pieces so do please check out the FSC blog. Our sponsor is Marina at Cottage Crafts and has a fab prize for the winning entry.

I've neglected stamping of late, as sewing seems to have taken over so my FSC piece for this challenge  is all about the stamping. I've altered a wooden triptych. It is painted with matt emulsion and fresco finish paints and then stamped with archival ink and inktense pencils. The stamps used are by judikins and stampers anonymous.

I haven't entered many challenges recently so here goes thought I'd enter a few this week :-D

A Couple of Bags!

I'm rather obsessed with bag making at the moment, can you tell! I just love all the gorgeous fabrics that are available. I have just finished making these two. The first is a mini carpet bag using the same pattern as I did previously. I have been having a play with TAP. It really is very easy to stamp on and I tried my favourite stampsmith stamp Ophelia, and used archival ink and then painted the image using inktense pencils and transferred it onto a piece of plain canvas, the weave is quite an open texture and it still transferred really well, so it was then I thought about using it on a bag & and entering it for the current Stampsmith challenge which is bags'n'tags

Another pattern I've used before, but this time I liked the look of the autumnal colours of this tapestry style fabric. I'm not really into oranges an browns, but I couldn't resist this fabric. I bought it from dunelm mills they have loads of lush fabrics and most bags only need half a metre of exterior and lining fabric.

Have a lovely day & Happy Crafting. xx

Trailblazers for That's Crafty!

Hiya,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. The weather has been stunning in our part of the country, autumn is such a beautiful time of year, when it is bright the sun seems to have such a golden glow to it, and it is my favourite season, just a shame it is followed by winter as I dislike the cold, damp and dark of the British winter. Anyhow enough of my waffle. The weeks are shooting by and I never seem to get round to blogging much these days. I have some projects that need blogging, so this week I should have a few projects to share.

The first project is one I did for That's Crafty a while back but has only just been blogged as the B line stamps were out of stock for a while. Along with restocks, they have some lovely new B Line stamps available, they are a dream to use as they are so detailed.

Will be back tomorrow with a couple of bags I've just finished making.

Have a lovely day & Happy Crafting xx

Good things come in small packages

Hope you're all having a great weekend and enjoying the Indian summer. At FSC we ready for another challenge, this time it is Good things come in small packages. Please do visit The Fashionable Challenge Blog for some delicious projects beautifully created by the Stampettes.  Our generous sponsor is Marina from Cottage Crafts who is offering a prize for the challenge winner. As we are a stamping challenge we do need to see some form of stamping in your entry.

Also you can see the wonderful creation our Shirley has featured in the current issue of Craftstamper, she was shortlisted in the second round for The Stamper of the year. Biggest congratulations, it's fabulous and so well deserved.

Though my cosmetic pouch is not small my stamped cameo of Ophelia by the Stampsmith is. It is the largest of the stamps and is stamped onto shrink plastic. Then coloured using prismacolor pencils. Then baked in the oven. The pouch was one I've had for a while and is perfect for non sewists, as the buttons are the only sewing I've done. The lace and doily are attached using bondaweb, and the cameo, flowers and pearls are attached using fabric glue,

My small tag is is sewn this time. It is stamped with the medium version of ophelia using sepia ink onto natural calico fabric, then it was stitched onto some stamped fabric and cut into a tag shape and machine sewn and finished with some lace and buttons.

I'm entering this for

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and Happy Crafting  XXX

Archful for That's Crafty

Long time no blog, no internet access whilst away so apologises for my lack of commenting! This is a sneak peak of a project using those yummy Lynne Perrella stamps. If you would like to see more please pop over to Thatsbloggingcrafty

I think I left my mojo in France, still tucking into those gorgeous french pastries of which I succumbed to a few. I adore Tarte au Citron and those Tarte aux pommes are to die for, but how come all those French mademoiselles are so slim with all those tempting treats huh!!

A few pictures of some of the gorgeous Normandy scenery. It is so easy to find virtually deserted beaches with lovely white sandy. The weather was kind to us, we only had one day with a little light rain. I didn't take anything crafty with me, so haven't much else to show you.

I will be back tomorrow with my project for the latest fashionable stamping challenge though!

Take care and happy crafting xx
