Make it a Guy thing! ~ Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Can't believe it's that time already for another challenge at FSC which is 'Make it a guy thing', struggled with this one big  time LOL! Head over to FSC for some stunning inspiration from those Stampetes. Remember it's a stamping challenge so we do need to see stamping of some kind on your project. Our generous sponsor is Marina from Cottage Crafts.

In wisdom I decided to alter a tin for my OH to store all his motorbike documents in. He has a classic british bike from the 50s, so he has loads of paperwork, log books etc, all suitably shabby. I used a triumph stamp from darkroom door as I couldn't get one for his make of bike. I decided to make it grungy to fit in with all his oily bike stuff LOL. I seriously over did the grunge, but my excuse is that it's my first time!

Not very happy with project as it feels too grungy, but I suppose we do need to craft outside our comfort zone sometimes LOL!

Anyway I covered the tin with Prima printworks paper and used various background stamps and distress inks and Tim Holtz salvage stickers that I've had knocking around for ages to complete.

Hope you all have a great Sunday. Do have a look at all the fabulous and a lot less grungy DT pieces at FSC as they are superb.

Happy crafting XX

Ooh, I love this. I have the same problem with my OH. He's a biker and has classic bikes - only 30 years old, though, lol. I got a great fun biker stamp from I Brake for Stamps but I can't keep using the same one!! I think this tin is a brilliant idea and I hope he likes it x

Well, first of all I want to say, congrats at being brave enough for stepping outside you comfort zone. Having said that, looking at this piece, you would never have been able to tell, I think it is brilliant and not too grungy at all!!! Just right for what it's intended for if you ask me and I am sure DH will love it!!

Paula
I cannot see any faults with your altered tin. The grungy appearance suits the stamp and theme to perfection. I think you are being far too hard on yourself (already had to give Terry a telling off for this today!!)
Also it is such a great idea with it being of such a practical use.

Paula, your tin looks superb!!! It's one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen! It looks deliciously grungy but in your own special style! I am speechless!
BTW, I've emailed Shirley as your tin seems to be missing on the FSC post...
Have a lovely Sunday!
