I thought I ought to knuckle down and make a few christmas cards.
I'm a grumpy old woman today as I've hurt my back, would you believe it by stooping to take these pictures with my iphone LOL. Roll on christmas as I need a new camera, the iphone one is a bit rubbish really and as our garden is northfacing it is quite dark for taking pictures.
Another moan why can't you buy 7" by 7" cards and envelopes (and if you can where do you get them from!) I find 6 x 6 too small and 8 x 8 to large yeah I know I could make my own and I do but its the envelopes they are a pain to make and I don't like making them. Really should try and make some non square cards, but there is something I like about them, in my chaotic crafty world there is something ordered about them. Told you I was grumpy, anyway onto the cards.
The first two are using Stempelglade 'Vintage Christmas' love these stamps. I stamped onto glossy card and used Zig photo markers to tint them, they're fine to use with archival ink as I much prefer it to memento for photo stamps. Also used versamagic dewdrop & distress inks too.
Papers used on the first card are Melissa Frances & Joanna Sheen on the second and the Santa card. The Santa stamp is a stampington one, and I used watercolours on this.
Promise to be in a better mood next time I blog.

Love the colours on the first two cards, I call them soft and cuddly colours. Have not heard of the Zig photo markers before - not another set of pens I 'need', all I have to do now is find a supplier.
Huge sympathies about the back problem. I suffer myself - last time it went I was putting paper in my printer??
These are all absolutely gorgeous Paula. Love the vintage style and the stamping is beautiful.
Sorry to hear you managed to hurt your back in a somewhat bizarre way and hope it gets better soon.
I have to say too that this weather makes me feel a bit grumpy too so greetings from another grumpy old woman (about to get older too!)

Grumpiness obviously leads to lovely cards! Do you have the envelope board? I find it makes envelope making faff free. (although that could just be because I'm in the honeymoon phase of crafting!)
what stunning cards just love vintage
hugs
well we are allowed to be grumpy from time to time. Lovely cards as always
Beautiful cards ! Hope your back feels better ♥
WOW! These are absolutely stunning. The friends on your xmas list are some of the luckiest people in the world.

Paula, you know my mouth always hangs open when I see your photo stamps, I cannot believe how you do it and these cards are just unbelievable in that respect, I could swear they were real vintage photos. The cards are stunning!!
Hope you feel better soon, hey and look at it this way, at least you have an iphone (wished I did....)

These cards are lovely Paula. Such romantic images and very different from the usual Christmas offering. Hope the back is getting better.
Beautiful cards they are so inspirational, I love the vintage look you always achieve, I know what you mean about making envelopes I am the same and card boxes yuck someone told me they can do it in minutes, well not me. I know what you mean about the card size sometimes you have to cut the edge of some of the lovely small papers and they just aren't as pretty afterwards. Laura
These are all wonderful!
How do you make such beautiful cards when you are so misy and grumpy, me thinks that the next card I make it will be when I am in a bad mood lol.
Agree with the moan about the card sizes but apart from all that what an inspiration you are with all your pieces of art they are adorable, the victoriana feel is fabulous.

You may be grumpy but it has no impact on your creations.
Oh how I've missed visiting you. You can grump all you like so long as you share delights with us. The papers, images and embellishments brought together to form the most beautiful cards.
I am so with you on the size of cards. I bought 8"x8" for the first time last month and the size is terrifying me LOL!! I mainly used 5"x5" but The Stampsmith stamps are so generous in size it was a struggle. So good to know someone else has this issue.
Hope your back is better by now.
Wishes
Lynne
P.S. I am assuming you watched Downton Abbey last night
These are gorgeous Paula, beautiful images and such a soft vintage look.
Have looked at 8x8 cards, but they scare me! Looks a big space to fill.

Hello grumpy ! Hope your back is better soon. I agree about the I phone although have to say the Ipad 2 takes fab photos great quality and if you have Wi Fi you don't even have to upload them to your pc they just appear like magic within seconds . Its a bit on the big side though ! Enough of that ! Fantastic cards , beautiful stamps images and colours all working so harmoniously they definitely have the wow factor
Stunningly beautiful cards
