An Indian Summer

I always think of India, at this time of year, apart from the gorgeous weather we have had, many years ago we spent two months there backpacking and ever since then I've had a fascination for all things Indian, and hope to return there some time in the future. So with this in mind I made this little box.

The stamps used are Lost coast designs. The box was painted with three coats of  cream matt emulsion then I stamped several images and painted with water colours and distress inks. I stained some braid with distress inks then added some pearls and a brass paisley embellishment. I painted the inside of the box and lined with paper.

Now for something old this is a pastel drawing I did a few years ago of a photo my husband took of some children when we stayed in Dharamasala, Northern India, they must all have children of their own now LOL!

Wow, that box is so unusual and really fits the Indian theme! Great jewellery box I'm sure. I totally LOVE your pastel drawing also, fabulous! I am actually going to India for a few days on my way back from seeing my son in Australia in December. (By hubby has some business to do there). It's my first time there and I am really looking forward to it.
I'll think of you!

Hi Paula
I want to start with the drawing. I so enjoyed seeing another side to your talents. This is a remarkable drawing, the way you captured the expressions and such warmth to it.
The box is full of the jewel like colours of India. A very special box which again is beautifully stamped and coloured.
Delighted to see you entering this at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. You support this challenge site so well.
I smiled at your comment. The majority of what I post on my Blog has been made well in advance so I then have plenty of drafted posts to hand. It is the way I like to work if at all possible.
